Live In The Moment

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I sit on my balcony high above the street below,
Sipping from a glass of cheap red wine,
Hot summer sun burning into my skin,
I bathe in the glory of its rays,

Soft music plays gently from my room,
And in the distance I hear a train,
Just passing through this little town,
En route to its destination,

The sun blinds me temporarily,
As I scan the relentless blue summer skies,
I close my eyes but its image remains,
Shimmering and searing to my core,

I hear excited children's chatter,
Their laughter infectious and free,
In their secret little game,
Of hide and seek,

They have no care or sorrow,
And live only in the moment,
Embracing joy and accepting life,
Without query or question,

And soon I am with them,
The long lost child emerges,
I have no cares or sorrow,
I sip the wine,
And just for a time,
I live in the moment.
