Walking along the path today
Enjoying the nice, warm weather,
The children playing together
Running in every which way.

We stopped at the end of the trail
Where so many feeders were hung,
Empty peanut shells had been flung
The squirrels thought, they would prevail.

In and out of the trees, they went
Black capped chickadees, they swooped in,
Stole seeds, from beneath squirrels chins
All of them, seemed rather content.

The squirrels then hogged the feeders
One had slipped and fell on the ground,
The chickadees gathered around
Roared with laughter, in the cedars.
