Sun Superceded By Moon

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

So strange being there,
That time of year,
A seaside town,
Devoid of cheer,

No ferris wheel,
No paddling pool,
No circus clown,
To play the fool,

Redundant now,
The wishing well,
The copper coins,
With tales to tell,

Like tarnished hopes,
And verdigris,
Forgotten now,
The summer breeze,

Replaced by winter's
Icy chill,
The busy harbour,
Now, so still,

The sea now calm,
Soft and serene,
And twinkling cold,
November scene,

The quiet waves,
Still lap the shore,
A yellow sun goes down,
Once more,

As darkness falls,
Mid afternoon,
Sun superceded,
By the moon.
