The Hills Of Stirlingshire
Today I drove to Stirlingshire,
I climbed the highest hill,
And looked down,
The sky in the distance, azure blue,
The fields lay before me,
Like a painting from an old master,
Or a memory,
Of an old patchwork quilt,
Lovingly sewn,
Haphazardly stitched in ragged shapes,
In mellow tones,
Of yellow and green,
The day was warm,
Yet cool, high on the hill,
I touched the skies,
Of Stirlingshire,
Smiled,
And thought of you.
