About the Author
I've often wondered when I first fell in love with poetry and it became an obsession in my life. Perhaps the magic moment came when I was ten years old and watched Robert Frost on television reading at President Kennedy's inauguration. Perhaps it was then that the spell was cast as I listened to the great master of American poetry read his poem and captivate me with the power and beauty of language. It seems at that moment my love affair with poetry began and I have been passionate about it ever since.
"Poetry is of little worth in the marketplace but of great value to the soul."
Richard Samuel Davis
"Poetry is the most difficult, the most solitary,
and the most life-enhancing thing that one can do."
Stanley Kunitz

Poet's Walk In Central Park NYC
My first published poem appeared in the January 2000 issue of The Raintown Review. "Watching The Swans Circle The Pond" was inspired by Yeats' poem "The Wild Swans At Coole". Raintown Review editor Harvey Stanbrough praised the poem by saying, "I suspect this poem will stand the test of time." Another work of mine "Waiting For Deer At The Island Refuge" has gone through many revisions over the years and has still not been finished to my satisfaction. The poet and critic A.M. Juster had this to say about an early draft of the poem: "I think you have a true chance here to take it to the next level and write the best poem you've ever written and place it somewhere side by side with the top poets of today! GO FOR IT!!"
