Lonesome Widow

Lonesome Widow
3 /18 /97

Somewhere in the country, sits a Gray haired old lady.
Snowflakes gently blow against the windowpanes of home.
She reminisces back over her life.
Years ago,she had a handsome young man,
Seemed then life could never end.
The cool winds of autumn blows.
She looks out upon a hill, her love lies resting.
A blanket of flowers keeps him warm.
They were placed there by his beloved.
Seems she is left here alone, like an island in the stream.
She relives memories over again.
Her hair of black whitened,as frost was sent each year.
Each room holds a memory,of love and kids at play.
Her life is fading,Like a rose in yonder spring.
She's exiled from family and friends.
She rises with dawn ,to relive memories over again.
