When and How?

Sunny and warm we decided to have a picnic
So many people, so many kids
It was so noisy and hectic

What an inspired day the 4th of July
We played ball and Frisbee
Not a cloud in the sky

We lit a fire in the grill
Soon it had burned down to glowing embers
So many choices to eat our fill

Now waiting for the 1 hour to pass
The kids wanted to swim
A little boy next to us caught a bass

A little further over, I saw a lady sitting
Against a big rock over looking the lake
On her tablet she seemed to be drawing

I smiled at her and she beckoned me
She had been sketching us, as we played and ate
She handed me the sketch, said “take it, it's for you from me”

She had signed the sketch with her name and phone number
Said “she'd love to do an intimate drawing of just me”
She gave me the look; she took a drink from a plastic tumbler

She was very lovely; I was tempted to tease now
But Mom! Mom! Brought me back to reality
I told her I would call with when and how...
