My Puppy Charlie

She was lying there
It was just dawn
But he didn't care
Watching her, he started to yawn

He wagged his tail
And started to shake
She was moving like a snail
How much longer would it take?
~
He wanted to go outside
He had waited all night
It was all he could abide
He was a pitiful sight
~
He did a little dance
And licked her in the face
It was her last chance
He needs to go out to his place
~
She slowly moved to the door
He wiggled and shook
Looked like he was counting 1-2-3-4
Out the door he went without a look
