Masked Artist

She was lithe, moved with effortless grace

A long silky flowing gown

And a mask on her pretty face

~

The mask had her smiling

It hid the tragedy of her life

Un-revealing

~

She wrote of better times

She spoke erotic poetry

She thought in rhymes

~

She had high hopes and dreams

And the mask hid all that had happened

So she is happy it seems

~

She whirls, and pirouettes, dancing

Hiding herself in her art form

Everyone glancing

~

The curtain closes

She goes home

With her armful of roses

~

She is lonely in her heart

She opens up a bottle wine

The fireplace she does start

~

She looks up

And sees you there

Offers you her cup

~

You take a sip

Then kiss her

Sucking her bottom lip

~

You say "so how did the show go?

Not one word is spoke by her

But through her eyes you know

She missed you

She loves you so
