My 31st Birthday

I was a mess

This story told by a friend

Who was a witness

To the events that night

~

Watching her stumble

Unable to control her walk

Barely able to mumble,

Let alone try to talk

~

She came home in a cab

Happy and giddy

At the keyhole she started to jab

I wondered did she have the right key

~

To herself she started to blab

Can anyone help me?

I said here let me give it a stab

And I opened the door with her key

~

She said thank you

I said your welcome

I live here in 632

I am always home

~

And she walked away

Now were friends

I hope to stay
